Adidas sponsored athlete Yohan Blake won the 100m final at the 2011 IAAF World Championships in Athletics in 9.92 seconds wearing the adizero Prime, the lightest commercial sprint spike ever. Setting new standards to lightweight footwear and weighing only 99 grams / 3.5 oz (men's, size UK 8.5), the adizero Prime was literally created from scratch and every part of the shoe including upper, plate, laces and spikes, was re-evaluated by the adidas Innovation Team (ait.) to guarantee the lightest product.
